Our library is committed to providing accessible resources for all members of our community, including those who are blind, visually impaired, physically disabled, deaf, hard of hearing, or homebound. Below are some of the specialized services we offer:
Talking Books Program
In partnership with the Maine State Library, we offer the federally-funded Talking Books program. This service provides recorded books and specialized players at no cost to individuals who are blind, visually impaired, physically handicapped, or have a doctor-certified reading disability. Sorenson Video Phone
We provide an in-library Sorenson Video Phone for individuals who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, enabling them to communicate effectively using sign language. This service is available during all library hours.
