How to Get a Library Card

You qualify for a free McArthur Public Library card if you live, work, own property, or attend school in Biddeford. If you don’t meet these criteria, an annual membership is available for $30.

Library cards are issued at the Circulation Desk in the main lobby. To obtain a card, please bring a current ID and proof of residency.

Lost Library Card

If you lose your card, please call us at (207) 284-4181 immediately to have it deactivated. A replacement card is available for $1.00. You must show a current ID at the time of replacement.

Checking Things Out

Items with limits are:

  • Music CDs  – 10 at a time
  • Magazines – 6 at a time
  • DVD/BluRays – 5 at a time
  • Video Games – 2 at a time

Check out periods are:

  • 3 weeks – Books, audiobooks, magazines, comics/graphic novels, music CDs, multi-disk DVD/Blu Ray sets, and video games.
  • 7 days – single DVD/Blue Rays.
  • Varies By Item – Recreation Collection
