Edward W. Staples papers (MS 32)

Edward W. Staples (1836-1905) was a successful and powerful business + political leader in Biddeford in the 19th century. The Staples family was deeply embedded in the business, financial and political elite of Biddeford, and to an extent Saco, during the turn of the century. They are a rich example of the power class of “old Biddeford” during that era.
